Job Summary
In this role as Field Application Engineer (FAE), you will be responsible for technical support (pre and post sales) for optical transceivers. You will work closely with sales team and internal cross functional teams to support customer to provide speedy resolution to their concerns/issues.
Understand customers’ needs and requirements and collaborate with internal teams to develop and launch new products, evaluate product performance and conduct product testing. Job Summary
To plan, monitor, and control the production schedule of SFP transceivers (10G, 25G, 40G, 100G series) at CloudPhotonix manufacturing facility, ensuring timely order fulfilment, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to quality and delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on confirmed sales orders, inventory levels, and forecast data.
- Align production capacity with customer demand and internal capability constraints (equipment, manpower, shift patterns).
- Coordinate with supply chain and stores for timely availability of raw materials and components (e.g., PCBA, ROSA/TOSA, Metal Housing).
Order Management:
- Translate Sales Orders (SO) into executable Manufacturing Orders (MO) and Production Work Orders (WO).
- Liaise with the CSO/PLM office to clarify incomplete or ambiguous order details and ensure ready-made manufacturing.
Capacity & Resource Optimization:
- Analyze machine and manpower availability to optimize utilization. Plan for equipment maintenance windows, Golden Sample requalification, and potential bottlenecks.
Cross-functional Coordination:
- Work closely with QA, Process Engineering, and production team to ensure synchronization across stages.
- Track production milestones from IC programming to final testing, aging, labeling, and packaging.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records in ERP/Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
- Generate daily production reports, output vs plan, yield loss data, and WIP tracking. Support ISO 9001 documentation and traceability requirements.
Change Management:
- Handle re-scheduling due to BOM changes, customer urgency, or line issues.
- Prioritize builds based on delivery commitments and aging risk of WIP.
Education Qualifications & Other Attributes:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Production, Industrial) or Supply Chain Management.
- 3–6 years in production planning, ideally in electronics/optical components or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on with ERP systems (SAP, Odoo, Oracle, etc.), Excel, Gantt charts, production dashboards.
- Strong planning, coordination, and prioritization skills.
- Understanding of optical transceiver manufacturing processes and cleanroom discipline is a plus.
- Ability to handle dynamic changes, short lead times, and work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Preferred Attributes
