Founder & Chairman

Vivek Rajgarhia brings over 35 years of leadership in the photonics and optoelectronics industry, spanning global enterprise intrapreneurship and successful entrepreneurship. He has built and scaled photonics businesses at industry leading companies including MACOM, POET Technologies, OpNext (Hitachi’s Optoelectronics division, now part of Lumentum), JDS Uniphase (now Lumentum), and Lucent Technologies Microelectronics (now Broadcom). Prior to founding CloudPhotonix, Vivek was the President & General Manager of POET Technologies (NASDAQ: POET) where he drove the commercialization of the Optical Interposer, an innovative hybrid photonic–electronic integration platform. Vivek co-founded Optomai Inc., a Silicon Valley semiconductor company specializing in ICs for optical connectivity. He led the company through rapid product and market development, culminating in its acquisition by MACOM Technology Solutions (NASDAQ: MTSI). As the Senior Vice President & General Manager at MACOM, Vivek drove multiple strategic acquisitions across integrated circuits, lasers, photodetectors, silicon photonics, PICs, optical sub-assemblies, and module design, to transform MACOM into a global photonics and optoelectronics leader. Prior to that he helped spin-off Hitachi’s Fiber Optics division to form OpNext (now Lumentum) in the U.S., Japan and Europe and led their global Product Management and Marketing, launching multiple industry firsts Optical Transceivers including 10G, 40G, and 100G optical transceivers. At Lucent Technologies Microelectronics (now Broadcom) Vivek expanded Lucent’s photonics and optoelectronics market presence across China, Korea, and Japan and served a two-year assignment in Hong Kong as Director of Optoelectronics for Asia. Vivek is an Advisory Board Member for the Stevens Institute of Technology’s School of Engineering and Science and was an Advisory Board Member at Celestial AI (acquired by Marvell), that developed a Photonic Fabric for Scale-up AI connectivity. He received the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey.

Tarun Sibal

A seasoned business leader with over 30 years of international experience in technologyenabled sectors, he possesses a proven track record in driving revenue growth, market expansion, and developing scalable business models across diverse regulatory and cultural landscapes. With strong board-level engagement experience, investor alignment capabilities, and cross-border operational expertise, he excels in guiding organizations from inception to scale. Under his operational leadership, CloudPhotonix has achieved significant milestones, including the establishment of essential manufacturing and R&D infrastructure, enhanced operational and financial efficiencies through the implementation of talent acquisition initiatives, ISO 9001, ERP and consistent quality product delivery. His expertise in establishing essential capabilities is reinforced by a strategic focus on educating government and industry leaders about the vital role of photonics as a cornerstone technology. This comprehensive approach has positioned CloudPhotonix as a key emerging player in the photonics industry. His strategic vision and hands-on management have been instrumental in fostering innovation and driving sustainable growth.

Sunil Khatana

Founder & CTO

Sunil is a technology and innovation leader in photonics and systems engineering, with 30+ years of experience driving breakthrough innovation and product leadership. He has played a key role in delivering multiple industry firsts, including 100G digital coherent optics, 400G PAM4 pluggables, and many advanced modulation systems. He has led Technology and R&D organizations at Lumentum, Oclaro, Opnext and JDSU, and served as VP of Technology at Velodyne Lidar, building and scaling teams that turn deep technical innovation into commercial impact. His expertise spans photonics, signal processing, sensing, detection, control systems, embedded systems, thermal management, and high-speed design, translating bold technology vision into market-defining products across the stack, from systems to photonic integrated circuits. Sunil holds over 15 US and international patents.

Dr. Vikas Manan

Founder

Dr. Vikas Manan brings 25+ years of expertise in high-speed analog/mixed-signal ICs and optical transceiver systems from 10G to 1.6T. As Co-Founder and CEO of Insiga Technologies, he led development of 60+ high-speed product prototypes. At MACOM, he drove creation of industryf irst 100G–400G metro and long-haul ICs, achieving >60% market share in several segments. He previously co-founded Optomai, architecting the industry’s largest 40G/100G TIA and driver portfolio. He holds 14 patents and a Ph.D. from UC Santa Barbara.

Dr. Padman Parayanthal

Founder

Dr. Padman Parayanthal is a veteran photonics and laser engineering leader with 30+ years of experience. He spent 16 years at Bell Labs/Lucent/Agere as lead designer for the industryleading EML program, earning the 1993 OSA Engineering Excellence Award. He subsequently served 14+ years at CyOptics/Avago/Broadcom in executive roles overseeing integrated photonics development, and 7+ years at MACOM as Director of Engineering for laser chip development, leading design, process optimization, and reliability engineering for nextgeneration laser sources.

Nishchint Paliwal

Board of Directors

Nishchint brings 20+ years of experience in corporate finance, banking, regulatory compliance, and board-level strategic oversight. He serves as Independent Advisor in Corporate Finance and Governance, working with startups and emerging corporates on fundraising, due diligence, foreign collaborations, and compliance frameworks. He previously held senior leadership roles at HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, managing corporate banking portfolios across structured lending, project financing, and credit appraisal.

Dr. Sanjai Parthasarathi is the Chief Marketing Officer of Coherent Corp., the world’s leading and largest photonics company. He joined Coherent in 2003 and has held various progressive senior leadership roles in R&D, product management, business operations, strategy, and marketing. He was appointed the company’s first Chief Marketing Officer in 2019. Sanjai played a pivotal role in the charting the strategy and driving the execution of the company’s transformation into an industry leading photonics powerhouse. Over his 35+ year career he has broad technology industry experience across many markets, including datacenter, telecom, industrial, instrumentation, automotive and consumer. Prior to Coherent, Sanjai held senior business and technical leadership positions in Oplink Communications, TeraStor, Western Digital, and Concurrent Technologies Corporation.

Sanjai has a B.Tech from IIT (Madras), M.S. from University of Virginia and Ph.D. from Penn State.
